In 2021, I hosted the Surf Lounge Vancouver Pop-Up and one of the most unforgettable moments was when Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, wife of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, walked through our doors. Later that summer she was spotted wearing one of our handmade crochet tops that she purchased that day. What an honor!

Our crochet Antoinette shorts are modelled by the "goofy, warm, enthusiastic, unselfconscious" and incredibly gorgeous Lily Aldridge in the May issue of Marie Claire magazine! Equally as exciting is the fact that Aldridge was photographed by THE Helena Christensen! What a duo. We were over the moon to be included in this dreamy editorial.

We totally fell in love with the romantic, whimsical mood Helena created in her photography. Our handmade crochet shorts fit beautifully with the vintage, collage-like look of the photos. The Marie Claire article touches on Lily's next chapter - which includes a sustainable perfume line, Lily Aldridge Parfums, and a growing YouTube following. She talks a lot about keeping it real (which we love) and how she has steadily grown into herself and her confidence. There's nothing we love more than a woman being honest about her imperfections and embracing them. That's what Lily is all about. She even spends time discussing her career and offering advice to other women on her YouTube channel.

Upgrade your summer look with crochet shorts that add some romance and a vintage touch. We love the lacy shorts and sweater look, but you can also wear it with our matching Antoinette top. This piece is as great on it's own as it is layered under button-up shirts, denim jackets, or silk blouses.

Of course all of our shorts (well, everything on our site really) come with removable lining. Wearing them with liner in means endless possibilities for warm weather styling. Of course, without the liner, they make for one of the coolest bikini cover-ups. Pull them on over your bikini bottoms or monokini for a clean, matching set look and layer it tone on tone.
Destination Dreaming: Tulum
Day dreaming: the opportunity to get lost in a beautiful escape, anywhere you choose, to adventure freely, to travel, to explore... no matter where you are.
We've been indulging in a little destination day dreaming recently, imagining where we would love to travel and which of our favourite pieces we'd bring with us.
And you never know what the future may hold - as Gloria Steinem said, "dreaming, after all, is a form of planning."
So today, we're jetting off to Tulum, Mexico. We're packing bright colours, bikinis, easy coverups and throw-on dresses. With one well-packed carry-on suitcase we'll be perfectly equipped to enjoy the beach, the jungle, exploring the ruins, great restaurants, bars, and of course, some midnight dancing.
Let's start with our hero piece, the Tie-Dye Wrap Silk Maxi dress in neon fire.
