Molly Sims Wears Our Bella Set During Sports Illustrated Swim Week Festivities
When we design a piece, our hope is always the same: that it becomes something you reach for again and again.
That’s why we were especially excited to spot Molly Sims wearing our handmade crochet Bella Set during this year’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit festivities at Miami Swim Week.
Even more exciting? This wasn’t the first time.
Molly had previously worn the Bella Set, making this latest appearance feel even more meaningful. It wasn’t a gifted placement, a styling request, or something we had planned in advance. We simply opened social media and there it was: Molly once again enjoying life in one of our favorite handmade crochet designs.
For us, that’s the ultimate compliment.
What Is Miami Swim Week?
Held annually in Miami Beach, Miami Swim Week is widely regarded as the most important week in the swimwear and resortwear industry. The event brings together designers, retailers, media, influencers, buyers, and industry professionals from around the world.
Throughout the week, brands present their newest collections through runway shows, presentations, trade events, and industry gatherings that help shape the upcoming swim and resortwear season.
Among all of the week’s events, the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Runway Show has become one of the most anticipated highlights, bringing together SI Swimsuit models, celebrities, athletes, creators, and fashion industry insiders for a celebration of confidence, beauty, and personal style.
Leading up to the runway show, Sports Illustrated hosts a variety of events and activations throughout the week. Models participate in wellness sessions, media appearances, brand activations, beach gatherings, and social events that bring together some of the biggest names in swimwear and entertainment.
One such event was a beachside celebration where models, guests, and industry insiders gathered to enjoy the Miami sunshine and showcase some of the season’s most memorable swim and resort looks.
That’s where Molly Sims stepped out wearing our Bella Set.
A Personal Connection to Miami Swim Week
Miami Swim Week holds a special place in our hearts. From 2004 through 2019, Anna Kosturova exhibited at Swim Week annually, presenting collections, meeting buyers, connecting with retailers, and participating in the industry’s most important gathering of swimwear and resortwear brands.
Following the pandemic, we shifted our focus toward a direct-to-consumer model and stepped away from trade shows and runway presentations. While our business evolved, we still find ourselves following Swim Week each year with a sense of nostalgia.
That’s why seeing Molly Sims wearing our Bella Set during Sports Illustrated Swim Week festivities felt especially meaningful. Although we weren’t physically there, one of our handmade crochet designs was.
In a way, it felt like a small piece of us had made the trip back to Miami Beach.
The Bella Set
Handmade in cotton crochet, the Bella Set has become one of our signature designs. Inspired by the intricate pattern of a lotus root, the stitch creates a beautiful openwork texture that feels both timeless and modern.
Molly styled the set in chocolate brown, pairing the Bella Crop Top with the matching Bella Maxi Skirt. The result is equal parts beachside glamour, effortless resort dressing, and handcrafted luxury.
While the chocolate brown version was created exclusively for Mytheresa and is no longer available, the Bella Set continues to be offered in white — a fresh, versatile option that carries the same timeless appeal.
