5 Classic Festival Looks
Looks that take you from day time cool to a hot night out
Festival dressing requires a mix of ease, style and comfort. You want to be able to move freely, dance and party into the night, all while looking and feeling your best. One thing to remember is that the temperature really rises during the day. Crochet is perfect for those extra hot days as it has an open structure.
We have 5 classic looks that will do just the trick...
1. Crop top with denim cutoffs
Go-to, easy, always cute and always festival appropriate. We love this look.
2. Mini skirt magic
Arguably one of the most fun options, pairing a mini skirt with a rocker tee or a matching crop top for a night out is always a hit. The ultimate bohemian gypsy babe look is head to toe crochet. We love the matching top and bottom combo, whether it be with skirts or shorts. The tonal colours also make an outfit look more elevated and put together.
3. Crochet short shorts
A step up from bathing suit bottoms, but still just as pool party worthy! This cheeky style is perfect on the hottest desert days. Take out the lining to wear them over your bikini, or keep it in and rock the short shorts. If you're going for a legs-for-days kind of look pair these shorts with espadrille wedges.
4. Crochet pants please
Harem pants are always such a cool option. These crochet ones will keep you covered up and the loose open crochet structure won't be too hot in the sun. For an even edgier look try them with genuine cowry shell embellished bikini top! The Modernista Bell Bottoms are another festival look knockout. Make them work with the western trend by throwing on some cowboy boots and a great hat, or keep them rocker chic and layer necklaces over your favourite vintage band tee.
5. Crochet dress to impress
One piece, throw on and go! A mini dress will go with any shoe you pack - cowboy boots, sneakers, sandals, gladiators, wedges or booties. A good mini dress packs a punch. We are so in love with the Seashore Angel Mesh dress. And how badass does it look with the tough leather belt around the waist?! The wide boatneck is super flattering. Wear it with a slip underneath or simply over a bikini as coverup.
Shop By Look: In a Tropical Daze
Our first of many Shop By Look features. Here to help you get the look you want. Whatever you're in the mood for...whatever your vibe, tribe, inspiration, destination is. Check it out.
If you're into a sportier look, something lacy and romantic, something colourful and fun, or something clean and classic, we have it all. We love this Shop By Look feature because it helps every type of beach girl find her style and put it all together, head to toe.
Our first feature is TROPICAL DAZE. Why not start the spring / summer season off with a bang! Inspired by tropical destinations, if you love pops of colour with embellishment and personality, this one's for you.
Pom poms, genuine cowrie shells, tassels, bright colours, fabulous beach coverups, and intricate handmade crochet design. This edit is here to help inspire and coordinate your beach looks, and get you excited for warm sunshine and longer days.
The centre piece of the TROPICAL DAZE look is our crochet Pom-Pom bikini embellished with rows of colourful pom-poms and cowrie shells. Wear it with either the matching shorts or the relaxed fit harem pants. To complete the look you only need some awesome summer sandals, a hat and a bag. Some of our faves include this elegant straw hat by Janessa Leone, lace-up sandals (that go with everything!) by Beek and a simple market bag from Hope and May.
If there's a beach vacation in your future, of any kind, you can start planning your seaside looks around your bathing suits. Try one of these super cute bikinis, or mix it up with a monokini.
The Giza Pom Pom pants and Giza Pom Pom shorts. Super comfy and easy to wear, throw them on over your bikini and or wear them with a crochet tank and denim jacket. With a pair of sneakers or lace-up sandals these two are so cool.
So whatever kind of bathing suit you choose, a special coverup is key. The best ones can take you from the beach to a party and back to the hotel pool. Even better when you can wear them on the plane. This crochet kimono style Modernista Maxi Cardigan with fringe trim and braided multicolor belt is the perfect choice. Versatility is key for packing less in your suitcase.
We would wear this kimono over the Pom Pom bikini or our signature style Seashore Angel bikini in coral.
Another multitasker is the Marsala Stripe Hooded Maxi Vest. Picture yourself wearing it on the beach in Tulum, Hawaii, Jamaica, Morocco, California, Bali, South of France... literally anywhere.
One of our most versatile pieces is the Janessa dress, in both mini and maxi. Imagine having one piece of clothing you could wear over your bikini during the day with flip flops, and then to a party at night with a pair of espadrilles? That item is this dress. Insanely flattering with off-the-shoulder neckline, a cinched elastic waist and a decorative pom pom belt. Lacy crochet inserts and trims add a little something special to this light-weight cotton dress.
