Sports Illustrated Swim 2010 Issue has finally arrived - and we are in it!!!!!
After much anticipation, we were absolutely thrilled to learn that our Beach
Goddess in Rebel Stripe, worn by Genevieve Morton, was featured on
page 177! This is the 5th time that our designs have been included.
And that’s not all - stunning photos of the world’s top models in our designs can be found online at SI.com.
And another great surprise is this video where SI includes our Flashback Bikini as one of their picks for Top 10 Sexiest Suits!!!
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim Show
One of the highlights of 2009 for us was kicking off the international Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim Show
as part of Boheme Boutique’s poolside catwalk at The Raleigh, in Miami’s South Beach.
Along with 20 other international designers, our 2010 crochet and resort collections were presented to fashion
buyers and the world's media, as models made their way down a watery runway just as the Miami sun began to set.

Western Living’s 2008 Designers of the Year
And the award for Fashion Designer of the Year goes to... Anna Kosturova!
This prestigious event celebrates designers who have exceeded expectations in their design field from Architects to Fashion designers.
This was a big surprise and we were very honored, considering we do take a lot of inspiration from interior design. For example our Doily Madame dress was inspired by this chair by Marcel Wanders.
The judges for this award were none other than well known Canadian designers Peter J. Nygård and John Fluvog, which makes the award even more esteemed in our eyes.
We are grateful for the recognition and we would like to thank all of our customers whose patronage have helped us get this far.

BC Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2009
We were the last big bang of BC Fashion Week presenting our Summer 2009 Collections, and we had a blast. We showcased our swimwear, resortwear and children’s line. If you missed it see below to view images from the event. The video will be coming soon!
The fashion week wouldn’t be complete without the FMAs an evening of recognizing Canada’s talents in fashion, music, and art. We were pleased to be invited as the winners of the Fashion Achievement Award, along side Music award winner Theory of a Dead Man, Malcolm Parry winner of the Lifetime Achievement award, and the winner of the Art Achievement award Pamela Masik.

What’s better than having our swimwear show up on some of the brightest stars? Being able to meet them!
We jumped at the chance when we were asked to offer some of our annakosturovagirl suits into the Swag Bags for the celebrities and VIPs at the Toronto International Film Festival. While we were there we got the opportunity to meet the lovely Sophia Bush. During our chat we discovered that we had some similar interests (like a passion for boots) and we handed her our baby blue Beach Goddess Bikini as a parting gift (this is the same suit that was worn by Marissa Miller on the cover of the 2008 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition.)

Jubilation is a good way to describe our reaction to the cover of the 2008 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, where the top swimsuit model in the world - Marisa Miller - wears nothing but a necklace and our very own Beach Goddess style of sequined crocheted bikini bottoms in baby blue! Even though we've been featured inside the magazine (and throughout their calendars) for several years running and we've certainly enjoyed an increase in media exposure in recent months, this is unquestionably a career highlight -- truly the crown jewel of swimwear press.

Taking Fashion Week by Storm - LAFW
Anna recently had the pleasure of giving a sneak peek at her line during LA Fashion Week at the Design Suites. The preview for the LA market caught a lot of eyes, including fashion writer Hilary Atkin, creator of the Atkin Report, who kindly singled us out for praise in her fashion week insider summary. The cameras of SpinDaily.com also stopped by to interview Anna about the collection, and you can find the video here. It was a perfect opportunity to unveil our line to fashion editors, stylist and buyers, as well as celebrities like Tatyana Ali (Fresh Prince of Bel Air), Dominique Swain (Lolita, Face-Off, Alpha Dog), comic actress Jill-Michele Meleán (MAD-TV, Reno 911) and Danity Kane member D.Woods. Our friend, director Brian Lee Hughes even picked up something for his daughter from our Anna Kosturova Girl line. It was great fun to meet everyone and we look forward to our official LA launch sometime next year. British Columbia Fashion Week - Summer 2008
Meanwhile, closer to home, spontaneous applause and ahhs greeted the 2008 Spring collection as for the second consecutive year, Anna’s swim and resortwear show was the hottest ticket at BC Fashion Week. A packed house of media and VIPs showed their appreciation for the new designs as DJ Jesse Creed brought some beautiful noise to the catwalk to animate Anna’s elegant handmade crochet pieces and hand-dyed silks, complemented by jewelry from Shereen de Rousseau and Jeweliette. Models mingled with the guests at the afterparty hosted and sponsored by realtor Alexis Palkowski and held at Nu Restaurant, and with the help of BCFW sponsors, staff and volunteers, it was another great success. And the reviews seem to agree! Thanks again to everyone who supported us.
Bikinis You Can Believe In
Sustainable fashion is more than just a buzzword for Anna Kosturova, it’s an ethos that can be found throughout her collections for women and girls. Working only in cotton and silk, her pieces are guilt-free pleasures made of materials from renewable, natural sources. When the idea came to introduce animal prints to the line, it was both a creative challenge and a question of sustainability that led Anna to design elaborate crochet patterns to mimic exotic endangered animal hides. Finally, we’d also like to congratulate our dear friend, model Serinda Swan, shown above in the red bikini and in these beautiful shots wearing our Jeweled Tunic. Chosen from hundreds of models by Internet voters, Serinda was recently awarded the prestigious contract to model GUESS Watches. She might be off traveling the world, but we have it on good authority that her suitcase always has a couple of Anna Kosturova swimsuits in it.
